Seattle earns the top spot because its system combines unusual ceiling with unusual balance. Kade Anderson and Ryan Sloan give the organization two potential impact starters, while Felnin Celesten supplies premium-position upside at shortstop. Lazaro Montes remains the middle-of-the-order force and Michael Arroyo is already knocking on the major-league door. All five are in MLB Pipeline's current Top 40, and the system also has Jonny Farmelo at No. 59. That concentration matters: a farm is more valuable when its best talent can plausibly become everyday players and rotation anchors, not merely depth. Seattle did not use this group as deadline currency, so the organization leaves August with a contender above it and another sustainable competitive wave below it.

The Dodgers surrendered Zyhir Hope and River Ryan in the Tarik Skubal blockbuster and still own the deepest Top 100 collection in the sport. Josue De Paula, Mike Sirota, Eduardo Quintero and Emil Morales all sit inside the national Top 25, an extraordinary concentration of offensive upside. Christian Zazueta leads the next pitching wave, while Charles Davalan and James Tibbs III give the system seven current Top 100 players. The reason Los Angeles lands just behind Seattle is shape rather than volume: this system is heavily tilted toward position players and several of its best talents remain years away. Even so, the larger lesson is development power. The Dodgers converted prospect depth into the deadline's best major-league player without emptying the pipeline.

Milwaukee opened the year as MLB Pipeline's No. 1 system and remains in the elite tier. Jesús Made is the best prospect in baseball, a switch-hitting shortstop with impact tools and a remarkably advanced offensive foundation. Luis Peña gives the Brewers a second high-ceiling infielder, while Luis Lara, Jett Williams and Josh Adamczewski provide upper-level options and positional flexibility. The Dustin May and JoJo Romero deal cost the club Alexander Frias, one of the deadline's better young bats, but it did not break the top of the system. Milwaukee's edge is organizational: it keeps finding and developing players without the high draft positions available to rebuilding clubs. This is a farm that supports both a current contender and the next version of that contender.

Detroit turned the deadline's hardest decision into the largest top-end farm-system gain. The Tarik Skubal trade brought Zyhir Hope, now the organization's No. 2 prospect and MLB's No. 25, plus near-ready right-hander River Ryan and projectable arm Brady Smith. The Casey Mize deal added Kash Mayfield. Those arrivals join Max Clark, Bryce Rainer and Josue Briceño, giving the Tigers five Top 100 prospects and a credible blend of bats and arms. Clark has already reached the Majors; Ryan could contribute immediately when healthy; Hope can be part of Detroit's outfield as soon as 2027. The present-day cost was enormous, but this ranking asks about future talent. On that question, no system changed more dramatically in one weekend.

Washington's system starts with Eli Willits, a premium shortstop prospect, and two high-octane arms in Travis Sykora and Jarlin Susana. Seaver King, Ronny Cruz and Devin Fitz-Gerald bring the current Top 100 total to six. The deadline did not radically change the top five, but it made the organization wider: the Nationals acquired eight prospects, including four who entered their Top 30, and added a cluster of pitchers in the Foster Griffin and Luis García Jr. deals. That matters for a club trying to build an entire staff rather than one headline arm. The Nationals still need more upper-level certainty, and much of the best talent carries 2027-29 ETAs, but the combination of star ceiling and newly expanded pitching depth is difficult to match.

Cleveland's system is less dependent on one superstar than most clubs in this tier. Ralphy Velazquez, Angel Genao and Cooper Ingle are upper-level position players with realistic paths to Progressive Field, while Braylon Doughty and Jaison Chourio headline the next wave. Juneiker Caceres gives the organization a sixth Top 100 prospect. The Guardians' rank also reflects trust in the process: they repeatedly improve contact quality, defensive versatility and pitching traits after acquisition. Trading Josh Hartle in the Foster Griffin deal removed one ranked arm, but the system remains deep enough to absorb it. Cleveland may not have the single prospect who sells every list, but it has one of the best chances to turn five or six names into useful major leaguers.

Walker Jenkins remains the centerpiece, and his proximity gives Minnesota's system immediate relevance. Kaelen Culpepper is another potential everyday up-the-middle player, while Emmanuel Rodriguez offers impact power if health and contact stabilize. Catcher Eduardo Tait may be farther away, but the offensive ceiling is substantial. The Twins moved several prospects at the deadline, including Dasan Hill to Toronto and Jhomnardo Reyes to Baltimore, yet kept the core four Top 100 players. The system is more position-player driven than balanced, and that keeps it below the truly complete organizations. Still, Minnesota has the kind of near-term talent that can alter a major-league lineup without a long rebuilding wait.

Miami's farm is built around a compelling pitching foundation. Thomas White and Robby Snelling are left-handers with major-league rotation upside, and Karson Milbrandt offers another upper-level arm. Aiva Arquette gives the club a premium shortstop prospect, while Starlyn Caba adds defense and on-base potential in the middle infield. The deadline supplied seven more prospects, four of whom entered the club's Top 30, including Brayden Taylor, Jacob Kisting and Adrian Santana from Tampa Bay. That influx did not overhaul the top five, but it strengthened the middle of a system that was already trending upward. The Marlins still have to prove they can convert their improving position-player inventory into major-league offense, but the raw material is finally broad enough to create multiple paths forward.

Rainiel Rodriguez gives St. Louis one of baseball's best catching prospects, and Liam Doyle brings power left-handed stuff with a relatively short path to the Majors. Joshua Báez has revived his prospect value at Triple-A. The deadline added Alexander Frias, whose exit velocities and bat speed give the system another possible middle-order hitter, plus Josiah Ragsdale and two arms from Arizona. This is a more volatile system than the clubs above it because several of its best young players still have significant developmental risk. The upside, however, is real and varied. St. Louis has spent the last year adding the type of athletic, high-ceiling talent that can form a new core rather than merely fill out a roster.

San Francisco's first three prospects are all internationally signed infielders with Top 100 standing: Josuar Gonzalez, Luis Hernández and Jhonny Level. That gives the Giants premium-position upside, but the deadline is what moved this system into the top 10. Selling Robbie Ray and Heliot Ramos produced Miguel Mendez, Joniel Hernandez, Henry Lalane and Kaeden Kent, while the Luis Arraez deal added Ramon Marquez. Five of the six prospects acquired at the deadline entered the club's Top 30. None displaced the top five immediately, which says as much about the existing talent as the newcomers. The system remains young and projection-heavy, but it is no longer thin behind the headliners.

The deadline was mostly about the major-league roster rather than a farm overhaul, although the Pirates added a few depth prospects. The system no longer has the same Top 100 density it carried in March, but recent graduations are the best possible reason to fall. Pittsburgh's challenge is turning this next group into support quickly enough for the first wave.

Tanner McDougal and Jaden Fauske round out a top five that covers both near-term pitching and long-term offense. Chicago bought at the major-league deadline without sacrificing this core, an important organizational signal. The farm is not as deep as the elite systems, but three current Top 60 prospects give the White Sox a strong chance to add inexpensive talent around a club that is arriving ahead of schedule.

Tampa Bay traded a remarkable number of prospects while improving the major-league roster, yet the farm still carries four Top 100 players. Theo Gillen is the star, an athletic up-the-middle player with a complete offensive foundation. Nathan Flewelling and Caden Bodine give the Rays two quality catching prospects, Cooper Flemming adds lower-level infield upside and Brody Hopkins is close enough to help the pitching staff. The deadline removed Jefferson Rojas, Aidan Smith, Émilien Pitre, Brayden Taylor and others, so the system is unquestionably thinner. Tampa Bay remains this high because its development machine and remaining depth are real. The next test is whether the new second tier can replace what was spent.

George Lombard Jr. is the clear headliner and may be in New York almost immediately, giving the system a premium defender with offensive growth. Dax Kilby adds another shortstop with upside, while Elmer Rodríguez, Carlos Lagrange and Ben Hess form a high-velocity pitching group that could supply either rotation help or late-inning arms. The Yankees moved Jack Cebert, Ben Grable and Yovanny Cruz to Washington and Henry Lalane plus Kaeden Kent to San Francisco, but they protected the top of the system. This is not the deepest farm in the upper half, yet its combination of proximity and power arms gives it practical value for a contender.

Anthony Eyanson, acquired for Adley Rutschman, immediately became the organization's No. 1 prospect and the top pitching prospect moved at the deadline. Nate George and Ike Irish remain quality bats, while Joseph Dzierwa gives the Orioles a second current Top 100 arm. Kyson Witherspoon, Michael Forret and Enddy Azocar sit just outside this displayed top five and materially deepen the system. The Orioles acquired eight prospects, five of whom entered their Top 30. This ranking is conservative because the system lacks the elite top-five position-player ceiling of Baltimore's last rebuild, but it is deeper and much better balanced than it was a week ago.

Ethan Holliday gives Colorado a potential franchise player at shortstop and enough star power to anchor the system. Roldy Brito and Charlie Condon add two more Top 100 bats, with Condon close enough to reach Denver this season. Jared Thomas and Cristian Arguelles broaden the outfield inventory. Colorado used the deadline to add Aidan May, Juan Martinez and Mark Manfredi, strengthening a pitching group that needed more plausible starters. The system still leans toward hitters and carries the additional uncertainty of developing players for Coors Field, but it has more genuine upside than recent Rockies farms. The next step is creating a coherent run-prevention pipeline around the bats.

Alfredo Duno is one of the sport's best catching prospects and gives Cincinnati an impact bat at a demanding position. Steele Hall brings premium athleticism at shortstop, while Héctor Rodríguez has already reached the Majors. Tyson Lewis and Aaron Watson are younger developmental bets with the tools to rise. The Reds did not materially alter the top of the farm at the deadline, which leaves them in a middle tier: good position-player upside, fewer proven upper-level pitching answers and considerable distance between the headliners and Cincinnati. This is a system that could climb quickly if the youngest athletes turn tools into production, but it is not as complete today as the farms above it.

Sebastian Walcott remains one of baseball's most exciting young players, a physical shortstop with the ceiling to anchor a major-league lineup. Caden Scarborough is a current Top 100 right-hander, and AJ Russell gives Texas another high-upside arm. Malcolm Moore addresses a premium position behind the plate, while Yolfran Castillo is a long-range infield project. The Rangers moved Angel Arredondo in the Logan O'Hoppe deal and used other young pieces to improve the major-league roster, but the top of the system held. Texas ranks here because the star power is real while the middle of the system is less certain. Walcott's development can move this entire farm several places by itself.

The Angels made one of the deadline's most important prospect acquisitions when they landed Arjun Nimmala for José Soriano. Nimmala becomes the system's best position-player prospect and pairs with Tyler Bremner, a Double-A right-hander who could reach Anaheim quickly. Hayden Alvarez and Nelson Rada give the club two more athletic outfielders, while Johnny Slawinski is a longer-range left-handed pitching bet. Los Angeles acquired seven prospects and placed four in its new Top 30, adding the kind of depth the organization has often lacked. The farm still needs more impact pitching and more proof from its lower levels, but its direction is clearly better than it was before the deadline.

Gage Wood and Aidan Miller give Philadelphia two legitimate Top 50 prospects with paths to meaningful major-league roles. Wood has starter traits and Miller brings power and athleticism to the left side of the infield. Francisco Renteria is much farther away but offers substantial offensive ceiling, while Aroon Escobar and Dante Nori provide Double-A depth. The Phillies traded Ramon Marquez in the Luis Arraez and Brooks Raley deal, removing one of the system's fastest-rising arms. That is a defensible price for a contender, but it leaves the farm thinner. Philadelphia has quality at the top and less margin for development misses below it.

Cam Caminiti gives Atlanta a potential impact left-handed starter and the kind of top-of-rotation ceiling the system has lacked. Eric Hartman and Tate Southisene are athletic young hitters with Top 100 status, while Briggs McKenzie adds another left-handed arm and Alex Lodise offers infield depth. The ranking stays in the lower-middle tier because most of this talent is still years away and the system lacks the broad upper-level inventory of the top organizations. Atlanta did not radically reshape the group at the deadline. Its future standing will depend less on volume and more on whether Caminiti, Hartman and Southisene develop into true above-average regulars.

Kansas City has four current Top 100 prospects, but all sit between Nos. 65 and 99. The system's strength is the number of plausible players; its weakness is the absence of a prospect evaluators can confidently project as a franchise-changing star. The deadline did not materially alter that profile. Kansas City can climb if one of the teenagers takes a major step, but the current farm is more foundation than finished product.

Toronto did add Dasan Hill and other prospects while making several hybrid present-and-future moves, but losing Nimmala removed its most advanced high-ceiling position player. The system has interesting young talent and a recent draft boost, yet it needs another breakout season to move back toward the upper half.

The Mets were the deadline's volume winner, acquiring 11 prospects and placing eight in their new Top 30. Sammy Stafura, Aidan Smith, Émilien Pitre and others now make the second tier far more credible. Why only 26th? Several previous headliners have graduated, and much of the new depth projects as useful rather than star-level. This is a major improvement, but it is the beginning of a rebuild, not the completion of one.

David Hagaman is the best pitching prospect in the top five, while JD Dix and LuJames Groover provide additional infield depth. Arizona still develops hitters well and has upper-level help in Crisantes and Groover, but the system lacks the top-end pitching and total Top 100 density needed to rank higher. Josiah Hartshorn is the Cubs' lone current Top 100 prospect and the best remaining offensive ceiling in the system. Owen Ayers is a near-ready catcher/first baseman, Ethan Conrad and Kane Kepley add outfield depth and Jaxon Wiggins could help the major-league pitching staff soon. Chicago traded Jefferson Rojas to the Mets and spent additional prospect capital in a broad deadline push for major-league pitching. That was the purpose of building depth, but the farm now has fewer premium assets and less room for misses. The Cubs can recover quickly through development and drafting; on the August 4 snapshot, however, the system is clearly in a reloading phase.

Kevin Alvarez and Xavier Neyens have both reached the Top 100 and give Houston two genuine offensive building blocks. Jason Schiavone offers power behind the plate, Albert Fermín is a distant infield project and Bryce Mayer continues the Astros' tradition of finding pitching value outside the obvious places. Houston added Max Martin in the Nate Pearson deal and received Jadyn Fielder for Lance McCullers Jr. and Colton Gordon, but the system remains light on premium depth and near-term certainty. The Astros have repeatedly beaten low farm rankings through player development. That history deserves respect, but the present inventory still belongs near the bottom.

Ethan Salas is still a Top 30 overall prospect and a premium defensive catcher, although his offensive development and health remain central questions. Kruz Schoolcraft gives San Diego a promising young left-hander, with Ty Harvey, Ryan Wideman and Bryan Balzer forming the next tier. The deadline sent Kash Mayfield to Detroit for Casey Mize and Miguel Mendez plus Joniel Hernandez to San Francisco for Robbie Ray. Those trades improved the major-league rotation but removed much of the remaining upper-level prospect value. San Diego uses its farm aggressively by design; the consequence is a system with one established national headliner and very little depth behind him.
